Hey,

It’s so good to have you here!

As the title of this publication already suggests, I am a huge fan of C.S. Lewis. Not him really, but his writing and his mind. In 2018, I read A Grief Observed. And till this day, it remains one of the most important books I have read in my life. Being able to read words gorgeously strung together like that, opened my mind in a way that I did not expect that it would and still affects me to this day. I particularly like that with his essays (and every other one from other writers that I now read because of him), I am able to peer into the minds of others. People’s unique experiences, hopes, dreams, realities. All of it! I like how they make me aware of what is possible. Since then, I have been obsessed with everything he has written and other writers of beautifully written essays as well.

Chibundu Onuzo, another beautiful writer, once mentioned that when you read a lot, you tend to think that you can do this magic thing that these people have done and want to attempt it yourself. That’s what this account is about. Me trying to touch the surface of what these people have done. And I truly hope that I am able to publish here and hold your attention enough, to replicate what Mr. Lewis did for me on that day in 2018.

I will be rambling a lot and expressing myself about any and everything that pops in my mind. The hope is to publish at least one post, every week. It’s not a promise, please do not hold me to this.

So, dear about-to-be-subscriber, welcome to bits of my mind on this side of the internet.

P.S: You might find a series of posts titled “Bandwagon #”. Sometime in 2022, I found a group of people on Twitter who were participating in a 28-Day Writing Challenge and I joined them (joined the Bandwagon, you get it?). Being able to sit in front of a blank screen till it was filled with words, goaded me into making this posting thing a real deal. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I sort of (considering how I wanted to give up on most days), enjoyed writing them.

Love,

D.
